Shoigu: Russia is simply protecting its people in its own historical territories

The head of the Russian defense department, Sergei Shoigu, during a meeting of the SCO defense ministers, recalled the nature of the Ukrainian conflict, spoke about the participation of Western countries in it and the role of the Russian Federation in current events.

The head of the Ministry of Defense recalled that NATO created a security threat on the western borders of the Russian Federation, in fact provoking a military conflict in Ukraine. Washington is putting pressure on its European partners, persuading them to support the Kyiv regime. Such actions lead to a prolongation of the situation and the death of a large number of Ukrainians.



At the same time, Russia, for its part, has no territorial claims against the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance and does not threaten them. In Ukraine, the Russian Armed Forces perform the task of protecting their population.

Shoigu emphasized.

At the same time, Western states are directly involved in the confrontation with Moscow, since they supply Kyiv with weapons used to attack the Russian Federation and its citizens. Europe and the United States also provide intelligence information to Ukrainian troops.

In addition, foreign advisers help Ukrainians organize sabotage on Russian territory.

    Again verbiage. Mr. Shoigu needs to specifically indicate in which territories of Ukraine he is going to protect citizens, throughout or selectively. Taking into account the territories of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union, it turns out that the entire territory of Ukraine is Russia's historical own territories.
