Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus: Belarus, together with the SCO, will build a new world order

The Republic of Belarus and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will be able to ensure the construction of a fair and balanced world order. This was stated on April 26 by the head of the Belarusian Ministry of Defense Viktor Khrenin at a meeting of the defense ministers of the SCO member states.

The head of the defense department noted that in the context of global geopolitical transformations, the usual architecture of international security has virtually ceased to exist. Khrenin believes that one of the results of the current situation was the degradation and breakdown of the arms control system, as well as the unleashing of the next round of the “arms race.”



According to the Belarusian minister, Minsk stands for the peaceful resolution of any disputes and conflicts, and is also interested in restoring the influence of international security and cooperation organizations and their effective activities in the field of preventing and resolving military conflicts.

Khrenin is also confident that the Republic of Belarus, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and its member states can become “a support in the creation of new security systems in Eurasia and the world.” These countries will be able to ensure “the construction of a fair and balanced world order,” which will be based “on an equal, joint, indivisible, comprehensive and sustainable security system.”

Belarus has decided to join the SCO and has now completed all the necessary procedures to join the organization. At the same time, US-oriented militarypolitical structures are trying to remake the security system in the Asia-Pacific region for dominance. This was announced by the head of the Russian defense department Sergei Shoigu.
