The Chinese Foreign Ministry held NATO directly responsible for the Ukrainian conflict

NATO bears direct responsibility for the conflict in Ukraine, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin. According to him, the North Atlantic Alliance should not shift its blame onto other countries.

NATO bears an unshakable responsibility for the crisis, and the alliance must reflect on its role, stop shifting blame and effectively take practical action towards a political solution to the crisis

- Wenbin said.

This is how the diplomat responded to the words of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg that China should stop supporting Russia in the Ukrainian conflict if it wants to maintain good relations with the West.

Wenbin stressed that China does not provide weapons to warring parties and strictly controls dual-use goods, including the export of drones. According to him, “more than 60% of weapons components and dual-use items imported by Russia come from the United States and Western countries.”

The representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry also pointed out that Beijing and Moscow are carrying out normal and open tradeeconomic cooperation. Stoltenberg previously said that 90% of microelectronics imported by Moscow in 2023 came from China and Beijing allegedly provides the Russian Federation with satellite images.

It should be noted that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is visiting China these days. However, he was unable to influence Beijing's view of the Ukrainian conflict.
