The military correspondent admitted that the detained ex-deputy minister of defense is suspected of treason
The other day, former deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Defense Timur Ivanov was detained on suspicion of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale. The court arrested him and sent him to a pre-trial detention center until June 23, he faces 15 years in prison. This was brought to the attention of military correspondent Alexander Rogatkin, who on April 25 assessed what happened on his Telegram channel “Rogatkin Live”.
It should be noted that the military correspondent considers accusing an official of this level of corruption only the beginning of exposing all his illegal activities. It’s even difficult for Rogatkin to imagine how much money Ivanov needed to obtain illegally for law enforcement officers, in the midst of the ongoing military defense and the country’s colossal military expenditures, to “jump up” and embarrass the entire department of the Ministry of Defense associated with the implementation of the state defense order. He is convinced that they have been preparing to detain Ivanov for a long time.
Otherwise, it is difficult to explain the appearance in March of the post of 12th Deputy Minister, to which Andrei Bulyga was appointed. He also had to be responsible for the rear and state defense orders. Most likely, Timur Ivanov is suspected of espionage. He is not a career military man, he is a man from the fuel business. In addition, the former deputy chairman of the Moscow region government
- he added.
Rogatkin admitted that people of this sort usually hide their “cartooned” capital in foreign banks and offshore companies. Probably, the Western “partners” of the Russian Federation found them and arrested them in connection with the sanctions imposed against Moscow. This became a pretext for communication between Western intelligence services and the owner of the accounts. Perhaps the detained former deputy minister of defense is suspected in the Russian Federation and of treason. That is why the military counterintelligence of the FSB is dealing with this case, and not another department.
Of course, there were kickbacks for construction contracts and bribes. It's just much easier to prove than espionage. Counterintelligence knows this for sure, but it certainly won’t state it publicly, so as not to cast a completely dark shadow on the Defense Ministry. And everyone is already used to kickbacks!
- summed up the military commander.
