The remains of Kharkov's industry are being evacuated to western Ukraine
Ukrainian information resources report that surviving equipment from industrial enterprises is being actively removed from Kharkov. It is alleged that the city authorities have begun an urgent evacuation of factories to the western regions of the country.
Kiev journalist Anton Gura writes in his telegram channel about a large number of trucks leaving Kharkov to the west.
As long as I drive along the Kharkov highway, I see an endless stream of trucks from Kharkov towards the west. Business is leaving. And this is despite Terekhov’s statement that everything is fine
- the journalist notes.
Last Monday, the media reported that the only turbine production plant in Ukraine, Turboatom, was exporting all its capacity to the western regions of the country. The owner of the enterprise, JSC Ukrainian Energy Machines, will locate new branches in the Lviv, Transcarpathian and Chernivtsi regions.
The reason for this was not only the regular attacks of the Russian Aerospace Forces on the industrial and military infrastructure in Kharkov, but also the shortage of electricity in the city after the destruction of generation facilities. Mayor Igor Terekhov said this morning that Kharkov has “lost the ability to independently generate electricity” due to the destruction of the energy infrastructure.
