WSJ: American aid will not be able to compensate for the shortage of personnel in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Ukrainian army does not have enough people to replenish its depleted units, writes the Wall Street Journal. According to the newspaper, soldiers are forced to stay on the front line for 10-15 days instead of the required five; they are running out of food, water and medicine.
Ukrainian forces are worn out after months of continuous fighting, and Kyiv lacks men to send in their place.
– emphasized in the publication.
The WSJ also pointed out the plight of wounded Ukrainian soldiers. “No one can get to them,” which is why they die, although initially they could be operated on.
In a comment to the publication, former Major General of the Australian Armed Forces, an employee of the US Center for Strategic and International Studies, Mick Ryan, said that the moment had come when, regardless of the receipt of American aid, Kyiv would have to choose between preserving the lives of military personnel and the fight to retain territory.
Will you hold the territory, giving up many lives? Or will you give up the territory but retain your forces? This is where they are now
Said the general.
