The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation estimated the damage from corruption in 2023 at 1 billion rubles
In 2023, the damage from the actions of corrupt officials exceeded one billion rubles, said Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov. Speaking with his annual report to the Federation Council on the state of law and order, he emphasized that 719 criminal cases were initiated against officials.
According to Krasnov, almost 50 thousand officials were disciplined for corruption, and more than 500 were fired due to loss of trust.
The Prosecutor General also said that last year the number of terrorist attacks in Russia increased almost 3,5 times. Most were committed by members of Ukrainian radical organizations.

– Krasnov noted.
Since September 2022, the courts have considered 271 cases against 399 Ukrainian militants, 43 people were sentenced to life. Despite the decline in the number of registered extremist crimes, one in three of them is still committed via the Internet, and they are extremely dangerous, Krasnov said. Provocateurs are engaged in sending out instructions on how to take away weapons from military and police officers, he said.
The head of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation also pointed out that prosecutors are instructed to take tougher measures for the illegal issuance of patents and residence permits to migrants. According to Krasnov, all those responsible for large-scale damage from the flood will be brought to justice.
