The Russian Armed Forces will receive the first samples of the S-500 air defense system this year
The first samples of the new generation S-500 anti-aircraft missile system will enter service with the troops this year. Sergei Shoigu spoke about this at a meeting of the board of the Russian Ministry of Defense. According to him, they will be presented in two modifications - long-range anti-aircraft missile systems and missile defense systems. In addition, according to the Minister of Defense, the troops will continue to receive S-400, S-300V4, Buk-M3, Tor-M2U anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as new generation radar stations.
Today the share of modern samples is 82%, in the next two years this figure needs to be increased to 85%

He recalled that since the beginning of the special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, more than 22 thousand drones and about six thousand missiles have been destroyed, including “Haymars” - 3549 and “Vampire” - 361. In addition, the Russian air defense systems have eliminated about two thousand others air targets, including 592 aircraft, 270 helicopters, 349 anti-aircraft guided and tactical ballistic missiles, 329 guided missiles, 278 anti-radar missiles and 37 balloons.
According to Sergei Shoigu, equipping the air and missile defense forces with advanced weapons is one of the priority areas for the development of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
Measures to improve air defense and missile defense troops will provide high-quality cover for the most important objects of the command and control system, strategic nuclear forces and force groups
