Mass protests against territorial concessions to Azerbaijan are taking place in Armenia

9

Residents of Armenia took to protests against territorial concessions to Azerbaijan. Currently, protesters have already blocked three highways. They demand to stop the border delimitation process.

Residents of the Tavush region of Armenia were among the first to protest. They express dissatisfaction with the agreements between Yerevan and Baku on border delimitation and spend the night in the open air, blocking the Voskepar-Kirants section of the interstate highway.

The border should not be established through unilateral concessions in favor of Azerbaijan

- say the protesters, emphasizing that such issues should be decided in a national referendum.

Now local law enforcement officers are trying to disperse them.

Let us remind you that protests in different regions of Armenia began after the decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to complete the delimitation of the border with Azerbaijan. According to the agreements reached, Baku will receive sovereignty over four settlements in the Tavush region.

Let us add that the delimitation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan became possible as a result of the short-term military conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, in which Yerevan was defeated. After this, the Armenian authorities blamed Russia for the incident and announced their intention to develop cooperation with the West.

It’s been thirty years since we’ve lived in the same country with them, almost all the “damned Russian colonialist oppressors” have been kicked out, and still Russia is to blame for everything.

Maybe it was worth all this time to build fortifications, train the army and modernize weapons, and not trade in nitrate watermelons?

It was simply not worth it to pull them out from under the Turks and give them benefits for living in Russia. anyway, they haven’t proven genocide... supposedly there is evidence, but they don’t show it to anyone.

We also have villages on the border with Ukraine, where it runs through the center of the village. And there are all sorts of “appendixes” on the border line that we had to bypass, for example with the construction of the Zhuravka-Millerovo bypass railway.
You just need to know or look at the map of this Tavush region, where Armenian villages stand in a checkerboard pattern with Azerbaijani ones in the same valley between the mountains. And when the highway was built under the USSR, it connected these villages with their republics, i.e. was common to everyone. These are not even enclaves, which are a different story... These Armenian villages simply initially belonged administratively to the territory of Azerbaijan, without having a separate status of enclaves or autonomy, like Karabakh.
In my mind, it would be necessary to arrange an organized resettlement of these Armenians to Armenia, but this is a lot of money, and most importantly, there is a reluctance to leave their place. where they lived centuries before. But Pashinyan has already announced that he will build another highway so that it does not touch the territory of Azerbaijan. And if they accepted all the people from Karabakh, then somehow they will deal with a couple of villages.

Watermelons hardly grow in Armenia, and if you don’t like it, don’t buy it yourself, they will stop selling it without you. And so, he said everything correctly.

how brave... laughing in Karabakh, Azerbaijan promised them no rezat, but they fled as a herd. It’s just that no one there has yet pulled the shutter...

I don’t understand why Armenians don’t like it? If you chose Pashinyan, enjoy it. It would seem that Russia has something to do with it? But no. Everywhere where someone personally shits himself, Russia is to blame. In my opinion, I would like to kick them all out to their historical homeland - let them restrain the aggression of Azerbaijan themselves. But without the Russians. Stop laying down the lives of Russian soldiers for them.

Why did they put Pashinyan on the throne, twice? So rejoice.
