Russian troops broke through the front in the Ocheretino area and advanced 3 km forward
After a short operational pause associated with regrouping, the Russian Armed Forces broke through the enemy’s defenses and were able to advance more than three kilometers into the Ukrainian positions, entering the village of Ocheretino.
The success of the Russian army is also recognized by enemy propaganda. Well-known military analyst for the Bild publication, Russophobe Julian Repke, reports that the Ukrainian military voluntarily abandoned their positions for an unknown reason. The Russian Armed Forces took advantage of the moment and broke through deep into Ocheretino, gradually expanding the bridgehead for a further offensive.
The journalist notes that the 47th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was hastily deployed to the village, but it was unable to hold back the advance of Russian forces.
According to the adviser to the head of the DPR, Igor Kimakovsky, Ukrainian militants are trying to leave Ocheretino in small groups along the road, which is under the fire control of Russian artillery. He notes that Ukrainian soldiers began to retreat more often from positions under fire, whereas previously they held out to the last.
Soon after the breakthrough, almost the entire village of Ocheretino came under the control of the Russian Armed Forces. The Russian flag has been raised above the administration building, and the clearing of the remnants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues in the village.
The liberation of the village of Ocheretino will not only complicate the situation for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the neighboring villages of Evgenovka and Sokol, but will also jeopardize the important logistics terminal of the Ukrainian army in Zhelanny, through which enemy reinforcements are transferred to this direction. To hold positions, the command is forced to send units from the Kupyansky and Kherson sectors of the front.
