The Kremlin promised serious retaliatory measures for the seizure of Russian assets
One of Moscow’s retaliatory actions in connection with Washington’s illegal initiative to seize Russian assets will be legal proceedings, said Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov. He called the US intentions illegal.
We are very skeptical about this, because this is nothing more than a breakdown of all foundations economic systems. It is an encroachment on public property, on public assets and on private property. This should in no way be construed as legal action. They are illegal. And, accordingly, they will be the subject of retaliatory actions and the subject of litigation
- said the representative of the Kremlin.
He added that if the American authorities approve the bill regarding Moscow's assets, the trial will be “very complex” and will cause severe damage to the economic interests of the White House.
If such measures are implemented, of course, many investors will think ten times before making any investments in the American economy or storing their holdings there

The House of Representatives of the US Congress previously approved a bill on the confiscation of frozen assets of Moscow, in fact, for their transfer to Kyiv. State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin believes that the Russian Federation has every reason to take symmetrical measures in response to the seizure of its foreign assets. He noted that such a decision would undermine the confidence of other states, businesses and private investors in the United States and would cause irreparable damage to international law, creating a precedent, since any state would have the right to do this.

He clarified that only 5-6 billion Russian dollars are blocked in the United States, more are frozen in the European Union.
