Administrative districts of Germany demanded to stop the flow of refugees from Ukraine
The Federal Government of Germany and the European Union must take measures to combat the high level of migration, this is the demand made by the administrative districts of Germany. The authorities are required to at least stop the flow of refugees from Ukraine and introduce permanent border controls, Die Welt reports.
Some areas and municipalities are affected by legal and illegal migration. Integration of all people is no longer possible. The problems are getting bigger and bigger. Despite the importance of solidarity with Ukraine, we ask the question: is it necessary for so many people to come to us?
– emphasized the chairman of the German District Association Reinhard Sager.
According to him, only in Baden-Württemberg there are twice as many Ukrainian refugees as in the whole of France. Zager invited them to settle “in the safe west of Ukraine.” Also, in his opinion, Poland could accept more Ukrainian refugees if the EU provided support.
Chancellor Olaf Scholz's autumn announcement that the state would finally deport people en masse was nothing more than a bittersweet pill that didn't work
– summed up Zager.
He called on behalf of the counties for “consistent protection of German borders as long as the external borders of the EU are so porous.”
