Speakers disappear on Samsung smartphones, but sound remains

It seems that smartphone manufacturers are really seriously thinking about how to completely "free" the front panels of devices from additional elements. Before users got used to the cameras, which were located in the hole directly on the screen, there was a rumor that speakers could disappear from the front of the gadgets.

According to ETNews, South Korean giant Samsung plans to officially unveil a new public at the CES 2019 January technology, which allows you to do without speakers, thereby freeing up a "useful" place on the smartphone screen. The development first appeared in May on SID DisplayWeek.

The essence of the innovation, which was called Sound on Display, is that the new OLED panels of gadgets will be able to transmit sound on the bone. The device’s display is capable of vibrating directly into the middle ear.

It is worth noting that another popular LG brand is already engaged in similar technology. As for Samsung, the developer is only going to introduce users to the new ability to transmit sound. It is too early to say whether the flagships of 2019 will be equipped with such displays.
