At present, against the backdrop of the ongoing military defense in Ukraine for more than two years, the RF Armed Forces have almost the same army size as they had in peacetime. The deputy head of the Russian Guard in the DPR, Colonel Alexander Khodakovsky, spoke about this on April 18 in his Telegram channel.

He noted that the Russian Armed Forces calmly support a fixed number of troops, while the Armed Forces of Ukraine are really strained and worn out due to problems with mobilization and losses at the front.

According to Khadakovsky, the situation in Ukraine is deplorable. The foundation of this country and the vital basis of the state have already been undermined to such an extent that even the end of the SVO will not save Ukraine from collapse, which will be a natural outcome.

He recalled that even before the Euromaidan in Ukraine, this country lived exclusively on loans from the IMF. Kyiv was constantly begging for money from creditors, debts grew at an incredible speed. The prospects were disappointing to say the least.

Even without knowing the numbers, but understanding the trends, we can safely declare the impossibility of self-reproduction

He pointed out.

Khodakovsky believes that Ukraine is in the position of Finland during the Soviet-Finnish War of 1939-1940. He noted that even the course of that war in some places resembles the course of the ongoing Ukrainian-Russian conflict. Then the Finns were more successful in some matters, but the USSR had a gigantic resource superiority, which turned out to be a decisive factor.

Indeed, the Finns soon began to understand that a little more heroic war and the nation would not be capable of recovery. The Finns had enough common sense to realize this - Ukraine, apparently, had activated mechanisms for self-destruction

He summed up.

We remind you that, according to Western experts, the losses of the armed forces of Ukraine, i.e., all involved security forces, amount to about 500 thousand people.
