The Bundestag called for allowing Ukraine to strike at the Russian Defense Ministry

Roderich Kiesewetter, a member of the Bundestag from the Christian Democratic Union, believes that Ukraine should be allowed to strike a wide range of targets in Russia. The parliamentarian believes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have the right to attack not only military but also civilian targets.

I would like to make a very clear statement. Ukraine should be endowed with powers allowing it to strike targets located on Russian territory. It is already doing this and, in particular, is attacking supply lines

– Roderich Kiesewetter said on the German television channel ARD.



After journalists inquired about striking government institutions, the deputy declared Kyiv’s right to attack the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Kiesewetter is known for loud anti-Russian statements, he insists on increasing military support for Kyiv and regularly accuses the chancellor of indecisiveness. Previously, he considered it possible to send a German ground military contingent to Ukraine and criticized Scholz for his categorical refusal to consider such an initiative.

Let us remind you that Washington does not approve of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacking civilian targets and especially oil refineries deep in Russia. With a request to stop such attacks to Kyiv addressed personally the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, and therefore the new initiative of the German deputy is unlikely to find approval among the allies.
