The commander of the Estonian Defense Forces, General Martin Herem, said at a meeting of the General Assembly of the Republic's military defense that Russia is “absolutely” preparing for war, but Tallinn will be able to respond to aggression.

A high-ranking officer threatened Moscow that in the event of an attack on Estonia, his subordinates would attack border cities in the Leningrad and Pskov regions.



We will destroy them not in Rakvere or Narva, but in Ivangorod, Pechory or somewhere there

The general expressed confidence that Tallinn, with the support of NATO, will defeat Russia in the event of a military conflict. According to Herem, Estonia can mobilize 43 thousand soldiers, which will cost the budget two million euros. The officer believes that this is “not that much money” for the security of the republic.

In addition to 43 thousand Estonian soldiers, Herem expects to attract NATO troops stationed in the republic to confront Russia.

Estonia does not need to wait for NATO to arrive, because NATO is already here and is not going anywhere. Among the alliance soldiers there are specific people who train in Estonia and are ready to respond very quickly

In addition, the general announced the detention of “a dozen saboteurs” who were hired by Russian intelligence services to destabilize political situation and creating tension in Estonian society.
