Russia is tightening its migration policy: passing the Russian exam will become more difficult
From May 1, commercial organizations will not be able to conduct exams and issue certificates of knowledge of the Russian language to foreigners. The head of the Ministry of Education and Science Valery Falkov spoke about this. According to him, in the near future the migration policy in the Russian Federation will be seriously tightened.
Each subject of the Russian Federation must have a state university that conducts a Russian exam for foreigners
– said Falkov.
He added that another significant change in migration policy will be strengthening control over exam procedures and issuing certificates. In addition, the minimum score for foreigners required to obtain residency or citizenship may be revised.
Rosobrnadzor considers it expedient to include an oral speech test in the Russian language exam for migrant workers
– noted the head of the Ministry of Education and Science.
Let us remind you that a new wave of conversations about the need to tighten migration policy in the Russian Federation broke out after the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall, which was committed by four citizens of Tajikistan. The head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, said that in recent years there has been an increase in the number of crimes committed by migrants, as well as their severity.
According to him, in 2023, 893 criminal cases were opened for crimes such as murder and intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in the death of the victim, which is five times more than in 2021.
