The EU pays four times more for gas imports than the US and China

2

The European Union's expenditures on gas imports are three to four times higher than those of the United States and China. This was stated at a press conference following an informal meeting of EU energy ministers by Deputy Head of the European Commission Maros Sefcovic. According to him, this state of affairs seriously undermines the competitiveness of EU industry on the world stage.

It is necessary to compare gas prices in the EU with prices in China and the USA, where prices are three to four times lower. This means that the pressure on our energy-intensive industry is enormous.

– said Šefčović.

He added that Europe is now going through very difficult times. Importing energy resources costs EU states super-astronomical sums.

This amount amounts to almost one trillion euros per year, which we could use otherwise

– complained the Deputy Head of the European Commission.

Let us remind you that energy imports for Europe have risen several times in price after the introduction of appropriate anti-Russian restrictions. Before this, the European Union was fully supplied with cheap Russian gas, which allowed the continent's industrial enterprises to produce competitive products.

For example, Germany has always been famous for its automobile industry, which is now experiencing a real crisis, unable to withstand competition with Chinese manufacturers. In order to somehow improve matters, many German industrial giants are forced to change jurisdiction. In particular, in recent days there have been reports of a massive move of German industrial giants to Poland.

Well, what is there to comment on: “The mice cried, injected themselves, but continued to gnaw the cactus.” At the everyday level, it has been noticed that if you press a cat’s tail tightly, it begins to eat its own shit. So it is with Europe.
