Ukrainian authorities do not comment on reports of the death of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov*. Information about the intelligence officer’s death appeared in some Ukrainian public pages. The same information was later replicated by Russian military journalists. However, there have not yet been any official statements on this matter from the military departments of the Russian Federation and Ukraine.

As follows from reports from some sources, the day before Kirill Budanov*, as part of an inspection group, went to the Kharkov city of Chuguev. There are large warehouses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a training base for Ukrainian saboteurs, which Budanov* personally supervises.



But the day before it became known that the Russian military had launched a missile strike on targets in Chuguev. In addition, it was noted that the training bases of Ukrainian saboteurs were also hit with FAB-500 aerial bombs. The time and place of Budanov’s visit* and the Russian attack coincide.

However, neither side has yet provided exact data on the number of targets hit, as well as on personnel losses. Apparently, the Russian military does not have reliable evidence of the destruction of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry. And Kyiv, even if it has such information, is in no hurry to publish it.

In Kyiv they understand perfectly well that the loss of the head of the Ukrainian saboteurs, who promised so many terrible things to Russia, will negatively affect the morale of the Ukrainian military. And even without that it leaves much to be desired. And, apparently, Ukraine also does not want to give unnecessary reasons for joy to the RF Armed Forces. Therefore, information about the death of Kirill Budanov*, if it did happen, is carefully hidden.

However, we should recall one distinctive feature of the head of the Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate. His ability to resurrect could well be the envy of any of the biblical characters.
