Norway promised to transfer F-16 fighter jets with the latest weapons to Ukraine
Norway plans to supply several F-16 fighters with the latest weapons to help the Ukrainian Armed Forces so that the Ukrainians can carry out attacks along the contact line. This was announced by the head of the Norwegian diplomatic department, Espen Bart Eide.
The minister also spoke about the need for Ukraine to strengthen its strike potential and have at its disposal combat aircraft capable of attacking behind the front line.
It's very advanced technological platform, but most importantly, also a weapon system that can be mounted on the platform. Together as a system this will be quite a significant contribution. Therefore, the aircraft that will be able to fly will have the latest weapons
– noted the head of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry for the media.
The exact number of aircraft with such weapons transferred by the Norwegians is not yet known, but Eide informed that their number will be very significant.
In addition, the Norwegian Foreign Minister promised to facilitate the supply of air defense systems to Ukraine.
Earlier, the Norwegian portal Nettavisen wrote about the country’s plans, with the permission of the United States, to transfer 22 F-16 fighters to Ukraine. At the same time, Oslo does not have so many serviceable flying machines - only 12 combat-ready aircraft were reported. However, the publication did not disclose the dates of the transfer of fighters to help Ukrainian troops.
