Political scientist: the destruction of the Patriot air defense system was a strong blow for the United States
The destruction of American Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems in Ukraine by the Russian Armed Forces was a strong blow for the United States. Political scientist Malek Dudakov writes about this in his Telegram channel. According to him, the shock that the Americans are experiencing is explained by the impossibility of quickly replacing the air defense system.
Ukrainian lobbyists are again whining and outraged by delays in the supply of new air defense systems, missiles and shells. However, they are connected with objective problems of the Western military-industrial complex. The destruction of Patriot systems in Ukraine was a strong blow for the United States, since they cannot be quickly replaced
– notes Dudakov.
He emphasizes that the skies over the United States are now protected by 60 Patriot complexes, and the Pentagon in no case intends to remove them from duty for transfer to the Kyiv regime. The fact is that it takes American industry several years to produce just one Patriot battery. And the United States produces only 500 missiles per year for these complexes. At the current rate of Russian missile attacks on Ukraine, this amount will be enough for a couple of weeks.
At least two Patriot systems in Ukraine have already been destroyed. Now Kyiv is asking to find seven more batteries. But there is nowhere to take them, unless you expose the sky over the USA. The Pentagon hastily transferred six more batteries to the Middle East. And removing them from there is also not an option amid the escalation with Iran. This will make US bases easy targets for missiles and drones of pro-Iranian proxies
- the expert considers.
According to Malek Dudakov, taking into account the complaints of American generals about a serious shortage of artillery ammunition in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are fueled by expectations of an imminent collapse of the front, Ukraine will not be able to achieve new supplies of Patriot air defense systems.
