The West called it pointless to transfer any number of F-16s to Kyiv without creating effective air defense

Currently, many experts in the West are drawing attention to the fact that the previously announced transfer of American F-16 fighter jets to Kyiv by European countries will not lead to positive results for Ukraine. They proceed from the fact that this has already happened with the shipment of Western-made tanks, artillery, MLRS, missiles and various ammunition to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In their opinion, expectations were not met and were destroyed by harsh reality. Russia has always promptly compensated for the emergence of new weapons in Ukraine with the capabilities of its military-industrial complex and connections with partners.



However, there are those in the West who point to another reason for the pointlessness of the whole “aviation coalition” idea. For example, the well-known Western expert and observer Julian Repke considers it suicidal to send F-16 fighters to Kyiv if the situation with the air defense system on Ukrainian territory is not radically improved.

We remind you that in 2024 Ukraine expects to receive at least 24 F-16 fighters, and in the next two to three years - 120 such aircraft.
