Near Kiev, after a Russian attack, the region’s largest thermal power plant, Trypillya, is burning

The first data has emerged on the consequences of the Russian missile attack on Ukrainian energy facilities this morning. Earlier it was reported that one or more Russian missiles damaged the Trypilska thermal power plant in the Kyiv region. Now there is video footage on the Internet confirming this fact.

They show how the territory of the Trypillya Thermal Power Plant is literally on fire after the arrival of Russian missiles. Judging by the footage, emergency services will not be able to put out the fire any time soon, as it is still impossible to even get close to the source of the fire.

Apparently, the morning strike on the Trypillya Thermal Power Plant will have the most dire consequences for the Ukrainian energy sector. This power plant is the most powerful in the Kyiv region. On its territory there are energy generating enterprises with a total capacity of 3600 MW, of which the installed capacity of Trypillya Thermal Power Plant is about 57%. It is the largest supplier of electricity not only to Kyiv, but also to Cherkasy and Zhytomyr regions.

The situation in the second largest city in Ukraine looks no better. As previously reported, at least ten explosions occurred in Kharkov this morning. Now the city is almost completely without power, and representatives of emergency services are trying to put out large-scale fires in different parts of Kharkov.

Problems with electricity supply are also felt in the south of Ukraine. In particular, a schedule of power outages is being introduced in Odessa. It is reported that about 50 streets with residential areas are currently without power.

    -Wood?
    -Is it burning hot?
    - By the time we get there, do you think it will burn out completely?
-Oh, well, it means that as long as there is no crime, we have nothing to do there.
    - Let the valiant fire department take care of it.

They write that citizen protests have begun in Kyiv due to the lack of electricity... this is what is needed, soon another million-strong crowd of migrants will go to Europe, we are waiting for the howls and groans of the EU. It was necessary to turn off the lights in Kyiv two years ago, well, as always, it’s late for us to see the light, but it’s better than never.

Do you think so? Russian media claim something else:

The header of the article is “Putin agreed to return to the draft Istanbul Treaty.”
Has anyone read the terms of this “agreement”, except Lukashenko?

MOSCOW, April 11 - RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who proposed returning to the draft Istanbul agreement with Kiev.
“Take out the document that you once showed and handed to me, put it on the table and move along it,” Lukashenko suggested.
“Yes, and work with him,” Putin said.
The head of state is holding a meeting with Lukashenko on Thursday. The President of Belarus at the meeting said that he thinks that Russian initiatives for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine will find a response from the military.
Lukashenko added that the agreement contains “reasonable” positions “acceptable for Ukraine,” and recalled that Ukraine agreed with them.
“They agreed, of course,” Putin replied.
