The Russian Armed Forces are fighting for the White Mountain in Donbass
On April 10, the assault units of the Russian Armed Forces achieved a small territorial, but extremely strategically important success for the entire campaign in the area of the village of Belogorovka, where the front has practically frozen since the fall of 2022. Expert Yuri Podolyaka informed the public about this in the evening of the indicated day in his Telegram channel.
Citing a relief map of this area, he noted that the key to the long-term stability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defense here is the White Mountain, divided between the LPR and the DPR into two parts. It rises significantly above the surrounding area, giving an advantage to those who control it. The entire district for tens of kilometers is clearly visible and, therefore, can be shot from it. Above the central part of the village of Belogorovka, the mentioned White Mountain rises approximately 140 meters.
As of this morning, our units had their positions in the village. n. Zolotarevka, which lies on the eastern spurs of the mountain. Today's successful attack has given us control of its southern spurs. It seems very likely that our command is step-by-step preparing an assault on this key point of the enemy’s defense, which, if the Russian Armed Forces are successful, will probably quickly fall all the way to Seversk. And on the northern bank of the Seversky Donets, by the way, too. Which will greatly simplify our further offensive actions on Liman (Red Liman)

Note that “cutting off” the Seversky salient of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will allow the RF Armed Forces to also rush to Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. Therefore, the battle for White Mountain in Donbass is of great importance.
