The long-awaited Il-114-300 will soon go into production: the fuselage production line is ready

12

The United Aircraft Corporation is preparing to launch serial production of regional passenger aircraft Il-114-300. At the facilities of the Il-Aviastar enterprise, the installation of an assembly line for the continuous assembly of fuselage panels of these airliners is being completed.

According to UAC, the production of components for future aircraft will be organized in such a way as to minimize losses during planning and preparation of production, accurately determine the location of issues that hinder production, and promptly eliminate them. The line will include all the necessary equipment, which will speed up production.

As part of the technical re-equipment program, it is planned to install equipment for automatic riveting, as well as painting, sealing and drying chambers in the production line. This will ensure production of 12 aircraft fuselage panel kits per year.

– the UAC press center said in a statement.

Let's remember at the end of last week resumed flight tests of the aircraft for regional lines Il-114-300. It is symbolic that the second experimental aircraft of this model made its first flight on the birthday of aircraft designer S.V. Ilyushin. As part of the tests, the airliner made a flight lasting 40 minutes at an altitude of up to 900 meters at a speed of up to 230 km/h.

The Il-114-300 aircraft was created to replace outdated An-24 aircraft on regional routes. The airliner can accommodate up to 68 people, and its flight range when fully loaded is 1400 km. According to the developer, the new model will be able to take off from both concrete and dirt runways. In addition, it is planned to operate it in the Arctic regions of Russia.

Someone said that if you have an engine, the board will fly. Do you have an engine?

      Do you have an engine?

There is an engine, it’s not so dramatic

And what is it, where is it, please tell me? Is this really the long-suffering PD-8?! When will it be commercially available?

Well, the article itself says it, and there was separate news - the Il-114-300 made its first flight, powered by TV7-117ST-01 engines

Il-112 with these engines already made its first flights several years ago. And then the last flight happened... If the problems were solved, the engine was “finished,” then this is good news.

        Fuselage production line is ready

        The line is ready, BUT:

It is planned to install equipment for automatic riveting, as well as painting, sealing and drying chambers.

What a remarkable degree of readiness of the production line!
How do they plan to assemble the fuselages without riveting equipment?
        Oleg. Explain if you know?

It's common for the title to not match the text. The text says "cooking".

The installation of an assembly line for the in-line assembly of fuselage panels of these airliners is being completed

So the problem seemed to be not with the fuselage, but with the engine.

Any problems are resolved over time; there are no unsolvable problems.

There are more than enough examples when problems were solved by closing a project and writing off the funds spent on it. If such decisions also count, then you are right.

What is the service life of the engine that it has?

A litmus test for the state of the entire industry - aircraft manufacturing and thousands of contractors, instrument makers, materials scientists, engineers, electricians, electronics engineers, programmers, light alloys, structural materials - and the output must be a competitive product!
But so far the output is excuses, dreams, mouth stories...
We can firmly say that a decisive turning point did not happen.
