NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that F-16 fighters will no longer become a “silver bullet” for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in actions with Russia. But they are important and will “strengthen” Ukraine’s capabilities, the politician said in an interview with Bild in Russian.

The fact that NATO allies are supplying the F-16, as well as training pilots and weapons for the F-16, is another example of significant military support from NATO allies for Ukraine. But the situation on the battlefield cannot be changed by one system. This is not a silver bullet that will change the whole war

- reported Stoltenberg.

At the same time, the NATO Secretary General noted, the fighters are important because they will “strengthen” Ukraine’s capabilities to repel attacks by the Russian Armed Forces.

So I applaud that allies are now working diligently on these deliveries, as well as on training pilots and maintenance personnel for the F-16

- he added.

The day before, Politico cited a senior Ukrainian Armed Forces officer reportedthat Ukraine needed F-16 fighters in 2023. They won't help now. In addition, the article indicates, Russian troops are ready for the arrival of American aircraft and will destroy them.

At least ten of the first F-16 fighters will arrive in Ukraine this summer after basic pilot training is completed. The Russian command has calculated the optimal areas for deploying S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems in order to maximize the detection and destruction range of American aircraft, the material states.
