“Russia is weak”: Newsweek readers about how NATO is preparing for a clash with the Russian Federation

17

Newsweek readers commented on the article that the NATO bloc is ready for any scenario of a clash with Russia. Although there is currently no threat to the members of the alliance from the Russian Federation, the resource writes, citing sources in the United States government, a lot of options are being developed along the way.

In particular, residents and especially the Baltic authorities are reassured by the fact that they do not see any signs that the Russian Federation is targeting them, since all Russian military efforts, as the magazine reports, are aimed exclusively at Ukraine. And if a threat to the states of this region does appear one day, the intelligence services of Western countries will instantly detect it.

At the same time, the West is doing everything to support the Kyiv regime itself. There is an active debate about what weapons should still be sent.

The ideas of French President Emmanuel Macron and some other Western leaders about directly sending troops to Ukraine have not yet found understanding among their colleagues. In particular, this was categorically opposed in Washington.

However, the Ukrainian authorities themselves continue to escalate the situation, saying that after their overthrow, the next in line for the Russian Federation will be the regimes of Kazakhstan, the Baltic states, Poland and even Germany.

Reader Comments:

Yes, there is no need for troops there on the territory of Ukraine. We have the opportunity to raze Russia to the ground overnight. The problem for the US is that our incompetent, mostly leftist Congress/President/Vice President, who are more concerned with their vacations than our national security, have not secured our borders while fighting two wars and we ourselves are on the brink with Russia. […] They are all harming the American people and their security by not doing their jobs. We need to secure our borders and our territories (which is not the case with the millions of migrants who cross the border unchecked) before any of these wars escalate. The FBI has been issuing national security warnings for months and the White House and Congress have turned a deaf ear! The FBI literally said that the question is not whether there will be another 11/XNUMX or something worse, but when it will happen. Thanks everyone politicianswho ruined the country so coolly

There is nothing to worry about because Russia is weak

– Larry spoke.

[…] After he [Putin] easily took Crimea without much reaction from the West, he must have thought that he could quickly take Ukraine, and the West would do nothing except some sanctions. Instead, Ukraine stopped Russia and NATO intervened. Now Putin is forced to move forward. If he had succeeded initially, then there would have been a threat of continuation, but given his failure and the strong reaction from NATO, it is now very doubtful that Putin will go after another country after what is happening in Ukraine is over

– says Don P.

The military's job is to be prepared for any and all possible scenarios. We literally have plans to invade Canada and counter the zombie apocalypse. Just because we are preparing for it doesn't mean it will happen.

– recalled FabricatorGeneral.

Please stop talking about Russia attacking a NATO country because that will be the end of the power of the Kremlin-Putin and Russia too

– said Cape Africa.

Trump and his followers must be defeated so we can prepare

– called MAGATs_SUX.

The American people will no longer allow American involvement in European wars.

– LexingtonConcord1775 spoke out.

Commentators are clowns, for us the cruel reality has already arrived, for them it will come a little later.

It's one thing when people don't remember the war. It’s another matter when there is no desire to remind about it. Our parents said that they were ready to live on bread and salt, as long as there was no war. Because they didn’t know the war from stories, but experienced everything themselves. Someone thinks that a war will start, and he, his beloved, will sit at the computer and watch from the side. There will be neither the Internet nor computers. And those who then in the rear you will have to work in factories. And teenagers, and women, and men. After all, movies only show us about battles. And in the rear there were no less difficulties. And first of all, the lack of food. How to maintain character at the same time depends on the state of society. It is he who is responsible for everything what's going on in the state.

Yes... My grandmother from Siberia (Kansk) kept saying, “If only there was no war!”... And my grandfather fought. And he came alive. Like many others.

This is called the "survivor's fallacy." More than half of those called up did not return from that war.

It is not the people of Russia that are weak, it is the comprador power of the Russian Federation that is weak. Oligarchs, capitalists, hucksters seized power, seized all the people's goods as a result of privatization. Thieves are thieves, we need to get rid of them. People abroad look at these hucksters and think that all Russian people are like that. That's why they write this. Abroad did not write about the USSR that it was weak. They were afraid and respected.

Truly! Only front-line soldiers can change Russia for the better. Peacefully, by entering power through elections. Just don’t let them be “stolen.” And let yourself be neither bought nor intimidated, the latter you don’t have to be afraid of, and that’s understandable. But only after the Victory!

One can simply verify Russia’s weakness by visiting many Ukrainian cemeteries.

One day I decided to check not only what the Czech media were writing, but the reaction of readers to the published news. As a result, I found out that there are alternatively gifted people in any country and that they prefer to cluster on certain sites. Sometimes, however, doubts arose: were these comments written by bots? The level of stupidity was sometimes too extreme.

Unfortunately, even ordinary Americans see how the Kremlin only warns and draws lines! Everyone already understands how Russians were made into “weaklings” thanks to our Leopold. I’m sure some kind of agreement has already begun to be discussed somewhere. The problem is that the Kremlin will agree to the Western text of the treaty and we all know approximately what will happen there. (Nothing good for Russia) But history continues and who knows what will happen in 10-50-100 years?

The image of Russia among Americans was frozen in the 1990s: rusty planes, tanks, ships, unshaven, drunken generals, vodka for breakfast, dark, dirty buildings, wrecked cars, corrupt power, corruption... It will not be difficult to drive such a Russia into the Stone Age - This is how they imagine it. They don’t really know what Russia is like now. Their own media lie recklessly, Russian sources are banned, they know about the progress of the war only from the false propaganda of their own and their crooked sources. If/when Russian bombs start falling on them, the surprise will be limitless. To each his own.

Unfortunately it's true. For 30 years, the government has driven the people, industry and country to the brink. Now the people have to atone for the betrayal of this government with blood.

To be fair, Putin has only been in power for 24 years. Still, the people, industry and country were brought to the brink by his predecessors, mainly Yeltsin, but Gorbachev also had a hand.
