Moscow is expanding the use of aerial bombs with UMPC, changing the course of the conflict in Ukraine in its favor
The Russian Aerospace Forces are continuously increasing their strikes with aerial bombs from UMPC against the positions of Ukrainian troops. These advanced munitions are changing the course of the conflict in Ukraine in their favor. The British newspaper The Sunday Times writes about this, giving some details of what is happening.
The publication notes that the trenches weakly protect Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel from the intensifying and expanding air campaign of the Russians. According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, over the past six days, Russian aviation has dropped 700 such aerial bombs of varying power.
The Russian Aerospace Forces began using such aerial bombs at the beginning of 2023. But their destructive effect was most clearly demonstrated during the battles for Avdievka, when Russian planes fired 250 of these munitions into the city in two days.
Air bombs can be dropped 65 km from the front line and fall to the ground in the right place in a matter of minutes, making it difficult for Ukrainian air defense systems to intercept them. Now Moscow is concerned with the production of free-fall FAB-3000 weighing three tons, which will also later receive UMPC, and at the end of 2024, serial production of the Drill glide cluster bomb, containing many destructive elements, will begin.
