China has developed a project for an over-the-horizon anti-aircraft missile with a range of about 2 thousand km

13

Engineers from the Northwestern Polytechnic University of China have developed the concept of a surface-to-air anti-aircraft missile with a range of about 2 thousand km. Typically, the radius of destruction of such missiles does not exceed several hundred kilometers. The length of such ammunition will be 8 meters, the weight will reach 2,5 tons.

It is reported that the targets of the missile will be not very maneuverable objects: AWACS and electronic warfare aircraft, aerial tankers, strategic bombers and other similar aircraft.

The rocket will consist of two stages. The first will provide initial acceleration. Next, the second stage, equipped with a ramjet engine, will come into operation.

The missile will be guided to the target using satellite signals, and when approaching the object in the process of reducing speed, the autonomous guidance system will come into action.

It is important to note that Northwestern University has a large base of developments of such equipment, including hypersonic missiles. It is possible that the design of this device is based on the Feitian-1 hypersonic rocket with a multi-mode engine, which was launched in 2022. A special feature of the rocket is that the engine uses less compressed oxygen in the first stages, consuming it from the environment.

Eh... Any physics student can give out such concepts as a wagon and a small cart.
Even here on the site there were similar levels....

Does a physics student have the same technical and technical base as the Chinese? Who calmly implemented their concept in metal. And their whole concept logically stems from their civil defense missile, where they replaced the warhead operating on ground targets with an anti-aircraft one. True, for this simple replacement they need such a strong production base and scientific base, but they have it)) And here, our concepts of technology for the future almost all broke on the ruins of the military-industrial complex and related industries)) Mainly the elemental electronic component base and modern materials . They cut off imports and... T-14 and T-15 with the whole family in a coma. Aviation is on ventilators, except for Sukhoi, which has retained its production chains. And so on, wherever you spit - frantic attempts to replace imports. And the Chinese are great - initially they rely only on themselves.

where did you get the idea that the Chinese “calmly implemented their concept in metal”??
do you have secret Chinese data?

The article does not talk about this; on the contrary, it emphasizes that there is nothing in the metal.
IMHO, the Chinese have probably already estimated the cost/effectiveness, but they won’t tell the media...

I didn't express myself quite clearly. Yes, perhaps they don’t have a finished product, but all its parts actually already exist as components of other missile systems; it’s just a matter of combining them into one. The fact that they have virtually everything ready is indicated by the announced dimensions and weight of the rocket. And the Chinese, like us, don’t like to make statements when they only have a picture on paper.

IMHO, we could also voice a lot. Only this will be stupidity, everyone understands. twirl your finger at your temple once again.
For example, the simplest one. Take a ballistic missile, insert an anti-aircraft missile instead of a warhead, target the satellites, and hit their Avax 1000 km away. When approaching, it will release the anti-aircraft missile, etc. Is it possible from the existing database? Yes.
will do? no because it’s expensive and clearly ineffective
I ask you to write down the concept in my name so that the Chinese don’t get this one either))))

Expensive and ineffective, this is now a new leap with 3000/9000 FABs, for which there are no carriers and the risk of losing the carrier and the consequences of loss are much higher than the expected advantages. But getting AWACS with such a missile or technical specifications will pay for such missiles after the first hit. This will be much cheaper than the consequences of the work of an enemy AWACS. And ours... They twisted their finger when they said it was necessary to make a whale for planning ABs))) The mighty geeefeeeest!!!))) will take care of everyone. And then, losing feces as they went and smearing bloody snot, they rushed to do it. And not a single propaganda female dog stutters about hephaestus anymore)) If, or rather when the Chinese do this, it is very possible for a repetition here too. Well, you really need to have a satellite constellation for this, which China can afford and quickly. But we have only question marks.

Can I get Avax with my concept rocket? only if they are super-brakes. Since it will fly for 10-20 minutes, and glows in all ranges, but the cost...
The Chinese concept rocket is the same. Lights up in all ranges, flies for 10-20 minutes, intercept, escape, jam... not difficult

                but there is a concept.

Ahh yes, in dreams everything is not complicated))) Can you tell me how many complexes can intercept targets at 6k+ km/h and altitudes of 50+ km? You will see it, but leave, if the rocket has a reserve of 500-600 km, then this is unlikely)) As well as jamming it. What and how will you jam it?

Dreams Dreams. Who told you that the rocket will be 50+ km? the article says -

                    ramjet engine

no 50+ rather. Total. and it will be - it will differ little from the ballistic one.
but speed 6+ is more realistic, because... many air defense missile systems still have hyper-speed (tables are provided on VO). But even so, in the article it speeds up/slows down in flight.

those. the target may well, in these 20 minutes (2 thousand km/6 thousand km hour) - leave, hide behind security (and even now in the news fighters are guarded by reconnaissance planes), use interceptor missiles, electronic warfare (electronic warfare will definitely be more powerful at the big Avax), etc. .P.
By the way, there were several articles on VO about why long-range air-to-air missiles are poorly used on VSO.

                    You will fail.
Go to my concept.))) We already have ballistic missiles.)))

In any case, they used our developments, which no one remembers about anymore.

DEVELOPED in Chinese, it passed flight tests. And what will our Skolkovo say, the beacon of our scientific breakthrough and which is swimming in budget money

A similar concept was already tried to be implemented in the 20th century!
    1. (USA) BOMARC air defense system: range over 500 km (700 km), ramjet engine, active radar seeker, warhead: V-V missiles orwarhead Was in service.
    2. (USSR) SAM (anti-aircraft unmanned interceptor) R-500 (sometimes S-500): range = 800-1000 km, ramjet engine, active radar seeker. Was not adopted for service. (Official reason: there were no “suitable” targets... the real reason: the lack of a necessary navigation system in the USSR at that time, like in the USA!)

And why such a range? - judging by the weight of the rocket, it’s an ordinary cruise missile with an atmospheric engine - barely clinging tongue
