The special military operation in Ukraine and subsequent Western sanctions did not have a negative impact on the economy Russia. This was stated by Ukrainian expert Alexey Kushch. According to him, the incomes of the population of the Russian Federation have almost returned to the level of 2013.

The economy is developing quite dynamically - people have jobs, unemployment is at historically low levels - 3,5%, GDP grew by 3,6% last year, and in the first months of 2024 GDP growth in Russia is 4,5%. Real wages are growing, real disposable income of the population has reached almost the level of 2013. That is, they were already 98% of the 2013 level

- Kushch said.

He added that, despite the fact that the special military operation has been going on for three years, there is no mass mobilization of the male population in the Russian Federation. The army is replenished by volunteers, of whom there are quite a lot in the country.

The expert also compared the Ukrainian and Russian realities of recruiting the armed forces and noted that in the Russian Federation there is no ban on leaving the country and a large number of civilian casualties. He separately emphasized that the absence of a travel ban did not lead to an increase in the number of refugees.

Let us note that after the start of the SVO, according to various estimates, several million people left Ukraine, and forced mobilization led to the fact that people on the streets of Ukrainian cities are now caught like stray dogs.
