Vladimir Putin signed a decree providing for an increase in the number of military units in the Russian Armed Forces
The Russian president signed a decree that provides for the formation of the Dnieper river flotilla, a brigade of river boats, an army corps and a motorized rifle division. The head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Sergei Shoigu, announced this at a board meeting.
In addition, the document obliges the formation of two combined arms armies and three dozen formations, including 14 divisions and 16 brigades, by the end of the year. Also, the RF Armed Forces will improve their combat capabilities and increase their numbers and weapons, based on the goals of ensuring the defense capability of the state.
Along with this, the minister reported on the supply of 16 thousand military units to the Southern Military District equipment and modern weapons. Shoigu noted that in accordance with the department’s plans, the Russian Armed Forces will carry out 17 organizational and staffing activities and commission 360 military infrastructure facilities.
At the same time, Russian troops continue to receive gliding bombs and other weapons, instilling fear in Ukrainian militants. As The Times newspaper writes, aerial bombs equipped with wings turn into powerful guided weapons that can destroy almost any enemy position. According to the commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the only adequate response to them can be Western fighters.
