Russian refineries will be protected by Pantsirs from Ukrainian UAVs
The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, together with the Russian National Guard, is developing safety measures for oil refineries. The objects will be covered by batteries of Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems.
This was discussed at a round table meeting in the Federation Council. Artem Verkhov, director of the gas industry development department of the Russian Ministry of Energy, noted that work is underway. The issue of redirecting fuel flows in the event of equipment failure is also being discussed. like this technology are already in use. Verkhov added that the safety of oil refineries is really important today.
The Ministry of Energy is considering the issue of covering large facilities of the Russian fuel and energy complex. First of all, Pantsir is a high fire performance of the weapons control system of each anti-aircraft missile and gun system. Its 1RS2-1E Helmet guidance radar, together with the 10ES1 optical-electronic module, can process four enemy targets. The reaction time to targets detected by its own radar does not exceed five seconds.
After this, target designation is issued to the Helmet radar, which takes targets for tracking and ensures that high-speed two-stage 57E6 anti-aircraft missiles are aimed at them. One Pantsir-S1 complex can protect a covered object from 12 enemy drones at the moment of repelling one attack.
