The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the direction of action of the groups covering the state border during eight days of combat operations exceeded 3,5 thousand military personnel. This was stated by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu during his opening remarks at a meeting of the department's board.
Ukrainian militants attempted to seize border settlements in the Belgorod and Kursk regions. The most active actions took place in the area of the village of Kozinka. All enemy attacks were successfully repelled, and he was driven back beyond Russian territory. The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the direction of action of the groups covering the state border during eight days of hostilities amounted to more than 3,5 thousand, of which 790 were irretrievable losses

He added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces also lost a lot of military equipment: 23 tanks, 34 armored vehicles, including 11 Bradleys, five Vampire multiple launch rocket system launchers, Mi-8 helicopter.
Shoigu noted that Ukraine’s military losses since the beginning of 2024 have exceeded 71 thousand people and 11 thousand units of various weapons. This is almost three times higher than the figures for the same period last year, the Russian Defense Minister specified.
