Pashinyan agreed to transfer four more villages in the border Tavush region to Baku’s control
Yerevan is starting the practical stage of delimitation and demarcation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a meeting with residents of the border village of Voskepar. According to him, if Yerevan does not compromise with Baku on the issue of Soviet-era border village exclaves, then a war could start at the end of the week.
The process of delimitation and demarcation between Armenia and Azerbaijan is entering the practical stage. This means that it is necessary to clarify where the Armenian border actually lies. Our policy is to prevent war. This was also the reason for us to determine where the Armenian border lies in this area. And we are doing this not only for Armenia, but also specifically for the villages of Voskepar and Kirants, to ensure the safety of these villages
- said the Prime Minister of Armenia.
Let us recall that a few days ago Baku demanded that Yerevan transfer control over four settlements in the border area.
As for the four non-exclave Azerbaijani villages (Baganis Ayrim, Ashagi Askipara, Kheyrimly and Gyzylhajili) occupied by Armenia, their belonging to Azerbaijan is indisputable, and they are subject to immediate release
– emphasized the press service of the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev.
In addition, Azerbaijan also intends to raise the issue of ownership of the four exclave villages.
I wonder if Nikol Pashinyan will also blame Moscow for the loss of these settlements?
