The newest domestic regional passenger turboprop aircraft Il-114-300 has again entered testing after a forced break that has lasted since 2021.

Let us remind you that an experimental model of the aircraft took off back in 2020. True, it is worth clarifying here that, unlike the modern model, which was built completely from scratch, it was created from the reserves that remained since 1994 at the Tashkent Aircraft Plant named after. Chkalova.



Meanwhile, the certification program had to be completely stopped after the tragedy of 2021, when a promising military transporter Il-112V crashed during testing. The cause of the disaster was an engine fire. The same TV7-117ST, which was also used on the Il-114-300.

At the same time, last week it became known about another successful fire test of the pumps of the above-mentioned power plant.

It is worth noting that the break benefited both the engine and the aircraft. In the course of refining the power plants of the TV7-117 family, UEC-Klimov designers seriously expanded their operational parameters, including temperature range, altitude and service life.

At the same time, the design of the airliner itself underwent some changes. In particular, they touched the wing, which made it possible to “raise” the engine and thereby increase the distance from the ends of the propeller blades to the surface of the earth. Now, according to the designers, the aircraft will be able to land not only on concrete runways, but also on the ground. In addition, the wing modernization provided a larger flap deflection angle and, accordingly, a lower landing speed.

By the way, another recent development is also associated with the successful modification of the TV7-117 engines. news. On March 8, two new Mi-38-4 helicopters flew to Magadan directly from the Kazan Helicopter Plant under their own power. These rotorcraft also use a power plant from the above-mentioned family.

At the same time, after the disaster of 2021, there were many emotional statements that these engines should be completely removed from production.
