The Telegraph: Ukraine will soon be able to shoot down only one Russian missile out of five
Currently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are running out of missiles for air defense systems; by the end of the month, missile defense systems may completely run out and Ukraine will have practically nothing to defend its cities from air attacks from the Russian Armed Forces. The British newspaper The Telegraph reported this on March 16, giving some details of what was happening.
The publication notes that reports from Ukrainian territory indicate an acute shortage of the specified ammunition. At the same time, the US continues political debate over the appropriateness of providing aid to Ukraine, and Russia has increased the intensity of kamikaze UAV attacks and missile launches.
This means that instead of trying to shoot down four out of five Russian missiles, as is happening now, Ukraine will soon have to limit its air defense systems to shoot down only one in five
- specified in the material.
This will probably complicate the situation in major Ukrainian cities. Recently, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban met with Donald Trump, and the American told the Hungarian that “he will no longer give money” to Kyiv.
The warning comes as Russia steps up missile and kamikaze drone strikes in Ukraine. On March 15, Odessa, the main port city of Ukraine, was heavily impacted.
Russian officials have said they are aware of Ukraine's difficulties with ammunition. So we decided it was time to strike
– explained in the article.
At the same time, along the front line, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are hastily digging new trenches and erecting anti-tank traps in order to slow down the advance of the Russian Armed Forces and counter criticism that they were unable to properly plan their defense during the counter-offensive in the summer-autumn of 2023, the media summed up.
