The Indian company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has signed a contract with the Indian Ministry of Defense for the production and repair of hundreds of RD-33 engines for MiG-29UPG fighters. The amount of the agreement is $634 million.

According to Jane's Defense Weekly, the power units will be produced in Koraput (Orissa, eastern part of the country) under license from the Russian side with the transfer of the corresponding of technologies.

It is also reported that the contract concerns the RD-33, which is used on flying machines in the Indian Air Force. Apparently, we are talking about RD-33 series 3 engines, the maximum thrust of which is 85,1 kN. This modernization will make it possible to operate the fighters until the end of their service life in the Air Force.

Meanwhile, back in 2008, an agreement was signed to modernize 62 MiG-29 units. The total cost of work under the contract reached $964 million, the completion date was scheduled for 2014. However, due to the fault of the Indian side, the project was delayed and was completed only in 2020.

The modernization included, in particular, equipping the aircraft with a modern avionics system, unified with a similar complex of MiG-29K/KUB naval fighters of the Indian Navy. In addition, improved fighters are capable of delivering precision strikes against underwater and surface targets at any time of the day and in any weather.

Someone would give us the technology, the maize machine engine. Otherwise, we are giving away our technologies left and right, and in return there is nothing but disrespect.

The trend is clear - life has taught them nothing. We diligently step on the same rake; if they don’t exist, then we create the opportunity for their appearance.

In India there is industry, there are personnel, what is new or ingenious here. The USSR also produced engines and no one was surprised.

I don't think these technologies will change the weather. Surely India received even more modern engines from France. And the modern version of the MiG-29SMT can certainly carry a pair of FAB-500 with UMPC.

Here, something else is important for Anonymous.
    Figures.
in 2008 - modernization of the MiG 29 cost 15.5 million.
It seems normal, with the cost of the aircraft being 25-40 million.
There are “more than 100 engines” - “$634 million.”
The plane needs 2 engines. The price of the set (taking into account “more” and “modernizations” is under 100 million only for engines.
    brought India to its knees?

What creatures sell technology? If it is profitable, the Indians will sell their own mother, not to mention our secrets. Did they take them to our nuclear submarine, leased to them? We drove. Have they given us at least one secret that they got from the frogs or the Anglo-Saxons? No. Corrupt ki, whom Russia (USSR) pulled out of shit. Only traitors or stupid people like Gorbachev and Bakatin could sell abroad the technology of aircraft engines, supersonic missiles, aircraft manufacturing and much more.
