How much money does Russia intend to use to build the first high-speed railway?

15

On March 14, construction of the first high-speed railway line Moscow – St. Petersburg began in Russia. According to plans, it should become the founder of a whole network of similar lines connecting different regions. The official start of the work was given by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The first route will cross the Moscow, Novgorod, Tver, and Leningrad regions and will include 12 stops. It will be possible to get from the capital to Tver in 39 minutes, and from St. Petersburg to Veliky Novgorod in 29 minutes.

In turn, the journey between Moscow and St. Petersburg will take 2 hours 15 minutes, which is almost twice as fast as a trip on the Sapsan today.

After the completion of the first stage, it is planned to build similar lines along the routes Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod - Kazan - Yekaterinburg, Moscow - Rostov-on-Don - Adler, Moscow - Ryazan, as well as Moscow - Minsk.

Moreover, it is possible that in the future high-speed railway lines will reach Donetsk and Lugansk.

All projects for the construction of high-speed railways are planned to be implemented in the next 10-15 years, and funds for them are partially allocated from the National Welfare Fund. Moreover, according to the terms of the agreement, they will be returned with interest after 25 years, after which they can be used in other important projects.

At the same time, it would be naive to believe that trillion-dollar investments will pay off only due to the cost of travel tickets.

The fact is that the SVO will end sooner or later, and Russian industry, which will no longer be allowed into the West, will need new markets. Friendly countries will not accept us right away, so it is important for Russia to launch large-scale domestic projects that guarantee employment for our own metallurgists, builders and manufacturers equipment.

The situation is similar in Russian science, which needs to be loaded with new urgent tasks. At the same time, the implementation of high-speed rail is precisely an extremely knowledge-intensive project. After all, our engineers and designers still have to create completely domestic high-speed rolling stock from scratch.

Will it work out with trains like with airplanes?

Wasn’t there enough brainpower to understand this before? Or, like that proud hedgehog bird, it won’t fly until you kick it?

Previously, they put money in a little jar, which they kept in the west, and which they successfully wrung out.

By their technical nature, high-speed railways are not intended for the transportation of goods; they are good for not the poorest passengers in peacetime.
However, today the military action continues in Ukraine, and the threat of a direct military clash with NATO countries is growing. Therefore, it would be reasonable to postpone the construction of new high-speed railways until future times of peace.
Moreover, high-speed railway tracks, which have high-precision geometry, can be quite easily disabled by the enemy, and restoring the tracks will be expensive and will take a lot of time.
And it is now reasonable to direct resources, financial and labor, not to the construction of new high-speed lines, but to the speedy victory of Russia in its confrontation with the West.

Once they build a high-speed road to Adler, not only the holiday in Sochi, but also the trip there and back will become “golden”.
Did they take terrorism from Bandera into account during construction and operation?
Or, as always, as with the Crimean Bridge, will we stop traffic at every sneeze?!

As usual, the whole country will pay the money, and St. Petersburg and Moscow will skate.

Petersburg residents have also been squeezed lately. So only Moscow will ride.

For high-speed high-speed lines, separate railway tracks are needed, such habits are not too ill-conceived, because for the people it will be expensive and the return on investment will be negative. For a small circle of fat officials, doing this at the expense of the state looks like an economic crime. And there is a fairly high-speed connection between Moscow and St. Petersburg, saving a couple of hours will cost too much. It seems that the President does not have enough efficient advisers, but there are enough scammers, since such “cuts were sold” to the President. And all over the Russian Federation there is no longer any need to lay and repair dilapidated railway tracks - and there is nowhere to put the money, only on the high-speed railway...

It will not take him 2 hours and 15 minutes to walk from St. Petersburg to Moscow with 12 stops. Oh, these storytellers...

In 2024, in Russia they started talking about the need to build a high-speed railway... In Japan, the first high-speed railways appeared in the late 60s of the last century, now there are more than 30 high-speed railways there. For reference: the territory of Russia is about 17 million square meters. km,. The territory of Japan is equal to the territory of the Amur region and is 370 thousand square meters. km.
