The launch complex is ready for the first launch of the Angara-5M heavy launch vehicle
The head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, during a meeting today with President Vladimir Putin, announced the latest preparations for the first launch of the Angara-5M heavy launch vehicle from the Vostochny cosmodrome.
The launch complex at the cosmodrome is already ready to receive the first flight prototype of the new rocket; the launch is planned to take place in less than a month.
We are completing work on the Angara-5M launch complex on Vostochny, we hope that in the first ten days of April we will carry out the first launch, this is a very important event for the country, the space ground infrastructure will be strengthened

As the official portal of the space state corporation clarifies, a full check of the functionality of the electrical and refueling communications of the launch pad was carried out. The final work on assembling the Angara-A5M rocket is underway in the assembly building. These days it is planned to complete the rolling of the head fairing onto the combination of the upper stage and payload.
Let us recall that the Angara project is the first heavy-class launch vehicle developed in post-Soviet Russia. The first models of these rockets were launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome. Now a new version of the A5M with a height of 57 meters and a launch weight of 780 tons is being prepared for launch.
Yuri Borisov also said that an international crew is preparing for launch on the ISS. It is expected that on March 21, Russian cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, American astronaut Tracy Dyson and Belarusian cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya will depart from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on the Soyuz-25 spacecraft.
