Poroshenko ridiculed for pride in Soviet technology
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in his microblog on Twitter recalled the 30th anniversary of the An-225 heavy transport aircraft, which he called the “Ukrainian giant”. For this, he was ridiculed by users of the social network.
The fact is that the An-225, called the "Mriya", was built during the years of Soviet power and is an achievement of the Soviet Union, but not Square. It was designed in the 80s of the last century at the Antonov Design Bureau, and then manufactured at the Kiev Mechanical Plant in 1988. The first flight of "Mriya" carried out on December 21, 1988.
- wrote one of the commenters. Gratitude sounded to the Soviet engineers who designed the aircraft.
Twitter users pointed out that the Ukrainian leadership is implementing a process of so-called decommunization. Indeed, in this case it is necessary to “decommunize” and this is the achievement of the Soviet aviation industry.
Mriya is truly the largest aircraft on the planet. However, under the Soviet Union, only one copy was made. Currently, it is used by the Ukrainian company Antonov Airlines. The construction of the second aircraft was prevented by the collapse of the USSR and the “independence” of Ukraine, which was never able to complete what was started.
This is not the first time that Poroshenko is "piercing" with his decommunization. Earlier, on billboards with his image, the inscription “Get in Moscow!” Was posted, which is a quote from a poem by the poet-communist Nikolai Khvylevsky.
