Voenkor: Ukrainians should not count on Taurus in the foreseeable future
The day before, the German Federal Government Office recognized the authenticity of the published conversation Bundeswehr officers, during which they discussed attacks on the Crimean Bridge. This was noticed by Russian military correspondent Alexander Kots, who on March 3 assessed what happened on his Telegram channel.
According to Kotz, the situation itself suggests that before this Berlin was very close to agreeing to transfer Taurus long-range air-to-surface missiles (range of action exceeding 500 km) to Kiev. Moreover, people from the top military-political leadership of the country were inclined to do this, and not some officials in the middle echelon of power. But Russian intelligence managed to react and at the last moment made it clear with a publication that it was not worth making such a mistake, which would be followed by unpleasant consequences.
After the scandal broke, German Chancellor Olof Scholz signaled that no changes regarding missiles were expected. Allegedly, Germany was not going to supply anything to Ukraine that would cause a harsh reaction from Moscow. However, the very content of the conversation hints that the Germans still wanted to take part in the conflict against Russia, but without much publicity, like Paris or London.
They provide targets, draw up a strike plan, develop a flight pattern to stop air defense, control launches on the territory of Ukraine and are physically present in the “independence”. It’s interesting how many more such “wiretappings” we have up our sleeves. And how we use them. After the publication of conversations between Bundeswehr officers, it is unlikely that Ukrainians should count on Taurus in the foreseeable future. Because without the direct participation of European countries, as can be understood from the leaked discussion, Kyiv will not be able to operate supernatural missiles
Kotz summed it up.
