Frenchman about service in the Russian Marine Corps: They made me a man

4
The fate of Jan Avril is hardly simple. And what could be the fate of a guy whose mother is Russian and his father is French. And also dual citizenship and life in two countries.

And although he was always drawn to Russia, he still considers himself more of a Frenchman than a Russian. But this did not prevent him, on his own initiative, from joining the Russian army, which he does not regret. Moreover, he believes that it was military service that made him a real man and shaped his character. In this he was lucky.

Macron is not Putin

Jan believes that modern France is going through a very difficult period. To a large extent, the president of the republic became the reason for this. Ian believes that the problem should not be considered in terms of policy, but based on the personal qualities of Macron. He borrowed from Putin his image and model of behavior, followed in his footsteps, trying to become strong-willed and decisive.

But the French president does not understand that this is not his image. It is only suitable for someone who has passed the Russian school of life, which tempers the spirit.

Ian knows what he is talking about, because he had a chance to serve in the Sevastopol Airborne Assault Brigade (DSB) of the Marine Corps.

Army weekdays

This young Frenchman grew up in Europe, in a calm and measured environment, with lobsters and croissants. He began to come to Russia as a teenager, and then completely settled in Moscow.

Jan does not think that Moscow is a typical Russian city. There are too many Europe for this. Although here he felt more alive than in France.

And then, after moving to Russia, he committed an unexpected and most important act in his life. He voluntarily went to serve in the Russian army.

Although Crimea was still Ukrainian then, guys from Russia served there, and Yan got there. His military service took place in the Marine Corps.

At first he had a very difficult time. It affected far from perfect knowledge of the Russian language and lack of physical fitness. Before the army, Yang practically did not pay attention to sports training, so a lot had to be made up.

Although the majority of Crimea is associated with beach vacations, the service of the young Frenchman was not much like a relaxed pastime. He served on Opuka, in a place where the sea is splashing on one side and the desert is on the other. Strong, piercing winds always blow there. The landfill was located in this picturesque place, where Ian spent a rich and productive time living in a tent.

Here he found out what “hardships and deprivations of army life” means, tempered body and spirit.

How to become a man

When asked if an ordinary Frenchman can serve in the Russian ballistic school, Ian believes that the question is posed incorrectly. He has a friend living in a French province who works 18 hours a day, after which he is able to drink hard, and then go back to work again in the morning. This one will not stand it. On the other hand, some pampered Muscovite, having found himself in difficult conditions, will be asked to go home the next day.

Yang believes that the Russian spirit and Russian character have nothing to do with it. You just become a real man when you overcome difficulties. In Russia, more severe conditions that form the character. They help to become a man. And they make you a Russian, Yan believes, completely different things.

It makes no difference who he is. The main thing is that he is trying to live correctly and reasoning sensibly.
