Trump statement changes Turkey's military plans in Syria

A statement by US President Donald Trump on the withdrawal of US troops from Syria led Turkey to reconsider plans for further action.

During a speech in Istanbul, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the military-planned operation will begin not in the “coming days”, but in the “coming months”.

According to the Turkish leader, such a decision was made after his conversation with Donald Trump. Erdogan noted that the US decision to withdraw its troops from Syria brings the relations of the two countries to the "desired level."

No matter what they say about Trump, he acted very wisely, killing two birds with one stone: withdrawing American units from Syria, he not only fulfilled one of the election promises, but also began to restore relations with Turkey, shaken after an attempted armed coup inspired by the United States.

The Turkish president is more than happy with the decision of the American administration - it unties his hands regarding military operations against the Kurds, not risking a clash with US units, behind which the Kurds were hiding.

As for the Kurds, they once again became a bargaining chip in global games.

Recall that Turkey announced the imminent start of military operations in northern Syria against ISIS * militants and Kurdish groups, which Ankara also considers terrorist groups.

* -terrorist organization banned in Russia

It’s like they merge their protégés, everyone says the freebie is over, the political situation has changed, you know ....
A good example to all who put on the United States. There are no allies for the United States, but only tools to solve the tasks they need. Used, and all come on ....

It is very likely that Mattis is resigning because of this. He is a general with combat experience, not a politician. But such things are not welcomed by warriors.

Still, I wonder why the Kurds are so guilty?
Or maybe all this is just a distracting maneuver from the United States? I can’t get rid of the feeling that there’s a catch somewhere.
