The US wants to enrich its uranium in Russia

35

The American company Honeywell Metropolis Facility, specializing in uranium processing and enrichment, has applied for an export license to supply thousands of tons of raw materials to Russia for enrichment until 2028.

As follows from a document submitted by the company to the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Honeywell Metropolis Facility plans to send 8,5 thousand tons of natural uranium to the Russian Federation. It is clarified that the raw materials will have different origins, and the finished product is planned to be supplied exclusively to US civilian nuclear facilities.

The company expects to make the first shipment on March 15 of this year, the last batch according to the application is planned for December 2028.

It should be noted that the largest package of American sanctions introduced by the Biden administration last week does not provide for any restrictions in the nuclear sector. The 200-page list of 500 new restrictions does not affect areas important to Washington, sanctions against which could affect the economy USA.

For all Biden's talk of sanctions, his team is still unwilling to deal with revenue streams whose absence could actually undermine the Russian economy. They fear causing major disruptions that could affect the US economy […]Possible targets for a more aggressive approach could be foreign banks that help Russia buy Technology and materials, as well as trade in enriched uranium and metals, but all these measures pose risks for the United States

– Bloomberg analyzed the package of anti-Russian sanctions from the Biden administration.

I understand the interests of Rosatom; it must earn money. But as the Americans taught us a lesson, regarding gas for Europe, the Europeans are ready to purchase it at a price twice as expensive. We can conclude that we sold gas 2 times cheaper than it should have cost them. This means that they did not pay additional taxes to the treasury and wages to employees. Gazprom undoubtedly benefited, but was it beneficial for Russia? So it is with uranium and its processing, if sanctions are announced, the price of uranium will rise, but leave a hole for resale through third countries, let them buy from India. Let the sales volume fall by half, and the price increase by the same 2 times. And how much uranium will end up in Rosatom warehouses. So, uranium in warehouses is better than dollars in the accounts of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, which will be frozen in our country.

It’s not a fact that it’s for peaceful purposes. And if you really want to bend, then at least for gold. With advance delivery. And then, you can impose sanctions on that uranium for inciting a conflict. That would be fair.

Judging by the end of the scandal, the US has replaced the fake gold (to China).

They may have replaced it, but it doesn’t change the essence. It was a fact! And if the Chinese hadn’t made a fuss, and if they hadn’t checked the ingots, it would have worked out just fine for the Americans.
And even their president and the Ministry of Finance don’t know how much real gold there is in Fort Knox! The Minister of Finance just walked around the three storage blocks and looked at them visually, after which he said that everything was fine and there was gold, and that’s all!
The ruling Jewish banking clans do not allow auditors there.

Rosatom, like Roscosmos and other Russian companies, live their own lives. They are not worried about what is happening in the Russian country and the fact that, as a result of their activities, the ill-wishers of the Russian country may benefit. Ordinary citizens of the country should be responsible for this.

Not only uranium. Supplied until 2022. American RD-181 rocket engines were largely used to launch spy satellites. And in 2023, the United States purchased uranium from Russia for a record $1,2 billion - the maximum amount for the entire period of statistics since 1992. , in 2022, imports amounted to $830 million. A total of 701,8 tons of uranium were imported. I don’t know the degree of enrichment, but it is obvious that it can be used not only to fuel power plants.

If the United States banned Russia from using the dollar, then how will the United States pay for uranium? Definitely, only gold, and if dollars - then in cash.

Nothing strengthens faith in a person more than an advance payment. Especially if this person is American.
Let the gold be on the same barge with the uranium.

And our people will agree! And then they will justify to us that it is beneficial for us to cooperate with the enemy! This is what betrayal looks like.
We enriched them with uranium for their warheads (who will control them later!), which will then threaten us!
During the war, Stalin sold gunpowder and iron ore to Hitler, did he even trade with the Nazis?!

    - Why does Russia agree with the Americans? They are our most violent, evil, perverted enemies.

These are not enemies. The enemies are those who killed the population and brought migrants. And now he controls them and their offspring.

I’ll try to stand out from the general chorus of critics of this possible deal. Uranium enrichment is one of the most high-tech processes that less than a dozen countries have. And with the efficiency that exists in Russia, the total is less. And if you can earn money into the country’s budget from this skill, and not just from trading oil and gas, then why not? Is anyone afraid that the US will be able to use this enriched uranium for atomic weapons? Calm down and understand that the United States can always enrich its own nuclear arsenal as much as it needs. And this quantity cannot be compared with the need for the operation of a nuclear power plant; the difference is two orders of magnitude, if not more. We won’t sell, they will easily buy from another manufacturer. It’s the same with titanium or rocket engines, which were cheaper to buy from us and they bought them. Another thing is that we sometimes offer goods at such ridiculous prices that we then bite our elbows when we cannot maintain the profitability of contract production. This is exactly what happened with the RD-181, the rights to which were bought by the United States and they made their own improvements to it through patenting. And we had no right to sell this engine to anyone other than the United States until we had completed the entire order. When the order was completed, the United States refused further purchases and no one needed this engine. But we managed to earn at least something, otherwise we would have been sitting like a dog in the manger...

And what did Russia answer? Are we really going to enrich ourselves? after all the sanctions? Maybe we’ll go to the Olympics again, betraying our homeland? If the issue of sending athletes to the Olympics is now being decided, then the mechanism should be like this - went to the Olympics, came back, went to the Northern Military District (there is something for everyone there)!
