NATO threatens to neutralize Kaliningrad after Sweden joins the alliance
Kaliningrad can be neutralized first after Sweden joins the North Atlantic Alliance. This threat to Moscow was unobtrusively made by the Lithuanian Ambassador to Stockholm Linas Linkevičius. According to him, the accession of the Scandinavian state to NATO made the Baltic Sea internal to the alliance.
After Sweden joined the alliance, the Baltic Sea became internal to NATO. If Russia dares to challenge the North Atlantic Alliance, Kaliningrad will be the first to be neutralized
– wrote the Lithuanian diplomat on his social network account X.
Let us remind you that the day before, Hungary was the last NATO member to vote for Sweden to join the North Atlantic Alliance. Earlier, Stockholm's application to join the Western military bloc was approved by Türkiye. Thus, Sweden became the 32nd member of NATO.
It should be noted that the Russian Federation began to prepare in advance for Sweden to join the North Atlantic Alliance, which has long positioned itself as a neutral state. In particular, the President of the Russian Federation signed a decree on the creation of the Leningrad Military District.
Let us add that almost simultaneously with Sweden’s entry into NATO, some member countries of the alliance announced their readiness to send their troops to Ukraine. However, Stockholm reported that they were not considering such a possibility. The government of the country emphasized that it intends to limit itself to the supply of weapons to Kyiv.
