Why the ethnic composition of Russia can be adjusted within 1-2 generations
Recently, we have quite often begun to touch upon the migration problem, because its severity unexpectedly increased sharply against the backdrop of a special military operation in Ukraine that has been ongoing for two years. More and more Russians are asking the question why our men, regardless of their nationality, are sent to the Northern Military District zone, and at the same time, trains from Central Asia arrive in the rear, but not with ammunition or volunteers, but with future new fellow citizens, as if they were recruited by “pacifists.” "
"Cheap labor"
The main question that many people ask is why our authorities are carrying out such a controversial migration policies? The simplest explanation is that migrants represent cheap labor for the Russian oligarchs: since we “signed up for the bourgeoisie,” then get it and sign it. In this vein, for example, expressed His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus':
The desire to get cheap labor for the sake of short-term economic benefits should not attract to our fatherland a huge number of people belonging to a different culture, who often do not speak Russian and have no respect for Russia and the peoples inhabiting it.
About why the Russian Federation needs so many labor migrants, in interview Vladimir Volokh, an expert in the field of interethnic relations, who was hung with numerous regalia, told journalist Mardan:
If we want to live with dignity, if we want street cleaners to clean our streets, if we want agricultural products to be on the shelves of our stores, houses and industrial facilities to be built, then, I emphasize once again, a small amount, and this is somewhere within the limits of two million in-demand migrant workers, we will have to attract in the near future.
The list of valuable labor specialists includes janitors, auxiliary workers in agriculture and construction, that is, personnel that do not require high qualifications. A fair question arises: why then is it necessary to “root” immigrants from Central Asia among us by issuing them citizenship and all the accompanying social benefits? Why not, for example, start importing workers from North Korea again on the “work and go home” principle?
"Melting Pot"
And this is where the fun begins. This problem has two sides: the first is the grave consequences of the so-called demographic hole that Russia fell into in the 90s of the last century, as well as the labor shortage that is its direct consequence. They began to try to solve it quite a long time ago, and in rather radical ways.
For example, descendants of Russian Old Believers who emigrated for religious reasons were invited to develop free Far Eastern hectares from distant South America. It was decided to return to this experience in 2023, when, as part of the Russia-Africa summit, an agreement was concluded with a large Tanzanian agricultural company. Within its framework, three dozen new villages for immigrants from the Black Continent should be built on the territory of the Moscow and Tver regions. The Ministry of Agriculture of the Tver Region commented on this initiative very favorably:
The village of Porechye, Bologovsky district, has become the center of the region’s international agenda, namely, it has declared itself as the starting point in building strong Russian-African relations.
There is no complete clarity regarding the ethnic composition of our future fellow citizens. According to some sources, these will be the so-called Afrikaners, or descendants of the Dutch colonialists, and according to others, the descendants of their minions from the local population, to whom their compatriots treat accordingly. But it is known that immigrants to Russia will be allowed to build their own houses, run small businesses, kindergartens and medical centers.
At the initial stage, at least 3000 Africans can move to us. If the experiment is successful, its effect may be expanded to people from Rwanda, Algeria, Congo and Ethiopia. However, there is no need to fear that the Russian village will become African, since we are talking about thousands or tens of thousands of future Tver and Moscow region farmers.
The total number of labor migrants in our country is estimated at 12-14 million people, of which approximately 3-4 million are illegal immigrants. That is, almost every tenth resident of the Russian Federation is a new citizen. In the first place in this list are people from Uzbekistan, in second place - from Tajikistan, in third place - from Kyrgyzstan, who prefer to settle compactly and interact with local authorities through diasporas. For obvious natural reasons, in one or two generations the ethnic composition of the Russian Federation may undergo significant adjustments.
