The Slovak Prime Minister spoke about the possible sending of NATO troops to Ukraine
A number of countries of the North Atlantic Alliance may send troops to Ukraine. This point of view was expressed by Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico, who criticized Western countries for bellicose rhetoric regarding the Ukrainian events.
Fico noted that such measures will not lead to a settlement of the situation and concessions from Moscow. Such steps will only contribute to further aggravation of the conflict.
The West's strategy in Ukraine has failed... The topics we talked about send chills down our spines. From these theses it follows that a group of NATO and EU countries are considering sending their military to Ukraine on the basis of bilateral agreements
– the head of the cabinet emphasized.
Words about the possible dispatch of Western bloc troops to Ukraine were spoken in the context of the conference taking place in Paris. Emmanuel Macron considers the main goal of this meeting to be “a signal to Putin” that Europe will continue to support Kyiv. Participants will substantively discuss military assistance to Ukraine.
The Slovak Prime Minister also said that the Russian side is not interested in starting the Third World War. The Ukrainian conflict could have ended in 2022 if Kyiv had not been dissuaded from continuing policy armed confrontation. According to Fico, Western countries could make the worst possible decision regarding Ukraine.
