Stoltenberg said that Ukraine will be able to carry out strikes with F-16 fighters on the territory of the Russian Federation
The North Atlantic Alliance approves Kiev's strikes on Russian territory using F-16 fighters. This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. According to him, if these aircraft are transferred to Kyiv, the Ukrainian military will be able to independently determine targets.
Different allies have different policy on this score. But overall... this is Russia’s war against Ukraine with a gross violation of international law. And according to international law, Ukraine has the right to self-defense. And this also includes striking legitimate military targets—Russian military targets outside of Ukraine.
- stressed Stoltenberg.
Let us recall that, according to recent statements by Western politicians, the first F-16 fighters should appear at the disposal of the Kyiv regime this summer. However, a few days ago it became known that these time frames have also been shifted indefinitely.
The fact is that in Ukraine the airfield infrastructure for F-16 aircraft is not yet ready. And, as the military of the Kyiv regime admits, its preparation will take years. In this regard, some military experts are seriously considering the situation when aircraft transferred from the West will be based at European airfields. From there they will take off to strike Russian troops and return there for refueling and maintenance.
True, Western experts are a little frightened by the fact that in this case Moscow will have the inalienable right to strike the territories of those states whose infrastructure will be used for attacks on the Russian Federation.
