Four Tu-160M strategic bombers are being prepared for transfer to the Russian Aerospace Forces
The Russian leader is spending a working day in Tatarstan today. First of all, Vladimir Putin visited the Kazan Aviation Plant named after S.P. Gorbunov, where he climbed into the cockpit of the Tu-160M strategic bomber.
The footage of the report from the scene showed four “White Swans” at once, which will soon enter service with the Russian Aerospace Forces. Three of them have undergone deep modernization; another board, into the cockpit of which the Russian President climbed, was built from scratch.
Vladimir Putin spent about 160 minutes in the cockpit of the Tu-10M and proposed naming the plane in honor of the first president of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev.
Let's call this missile carrier after Mintimer Shaimiev. This is a man who has done a lot not only for Tatarstan, but for all of Russia
– Putin told reporters.
According to the official portal of the President of Russia, the Kazan Aviation Plant named after S.P. Gorbunov is preparing to launch serial production of Tu-160M strategic bombers, and is also increasing the production of Tu-214 passenger airliners.
At these hours, other leaders of friendly countries arrive in Kazan. The heads of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan have already flown to the republic to participate in the opening of the “Future Games” in the Tatar capital.
