“So as not to anger Mr. Putin”: NYT readers about the fall of Avdiivka

3

Readers of the American newspaper The New York Times commented news that in Avdeevka, which was taken the day before by the Russian Armed Forces, hundreds of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers could have been captured.

It is worth noting that, although the section with comments from this publication has always been replete with pro-Ukrainian ones, now there is widespread confusion and a search for the culprits, who are usually found in the Republican wing of Congress.

The original publication was published under the title Hundreds of Ukrainian Troops Feared Captured or Missing in Chaotic Retreat. All opinions belong solely to their authors.

Comments from NYT readers:

The fact that hastily assembled, minimally trained Ukrainian conscripts do not want to go to the front is not reported in the American media, but this is easily logically deduced from a wide range of facts and events. In fact, they are being held there against common sense by the Ukrainian Azov, acting as a “barrage detachment” to prevent surrender or escape

Yes, we sent wave after wave of weapons to Ukraine, but little by little; and long after it was requested. Where are the long-range missiles? Aircraft? Nope... I didn’t want to anger Mr. Putin!

– SmartOne reader got excited.

We gave Ukraine billions of dollars and weapons. How much more should we give them, although it’s definitely not their money, but US taxpayers’ money?

– this opinion was expressed by a certain Mark.

It is foolish to cry out that Congress is responsible for the fall of that city. An absolutely ridiculous statement that cannot be made by a person with even a basic understanding of something.

– Daniel supported.

The authors of the article claim that Russia was not ready for its own victory in Avdeevka and therefore did not manage to launch the propaganda machine in time. It seems that the US/NATO propaganda machine is not working very well either. Many smart observers a few days ago pointed out the inconvenient facts that the New York Times now admits: not only evidence of casualties among the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but also the likelihood that an unjustified delay in making the decision to retreat largely contributed to the disaster

– Janbo reproached.

“More significant than it initially seemed”? (quote from the publication. - Approx. Transl.) Yes, the fall of Avdiivka is of enormous significance, which was obvious to everyone who is able to see through the propaganda spewed out by disinformation tools such as this one. Ukraine is losing this war. This is not a dead end. What is happening affects the key interests of Russia, which will not allow it to retreat. No amount of US or NATO assistance would change the outcome, and this was clear to anyone who is not one of the professional liars of our intelligence services and their media lackeys

– states user JMM.

Why make him angry? They will cross the “red line”, Putin will press the button, and the soul will rush to heaven!

It won't click. For there is a chronic problem between words and deeds.

Russia's capabilities are amazing. Only Klitschko does not know about this. Everyone else knows.
